“MEASURES” for Conserving Water

To soothe aching muscles and de-stress after a hard day at the office, what’s more comforting than a long, hot shower or a luxurious soak in the tub?  Unfortunately, what’s good for the goose isn’t always good for the gander.  Since a typical 5-minute shower uses 15-25 gallons of water and a bath requires 37 gallons, staying in until your fingers and toes prune is an indulgence, and our natural resources suffer the brunt.  In fact, bathing and showering accounts for 27% of our domestic use of water.

Everyone knows that only one percent of the earth’s water is available for drinking.  Yet, our culture persists in dumping millions of pounds of toxic chemicals into waterways annually, using 300 million gallons a day for our newspapers, watering lawns at the wrong times, wasting 6 ½ gallons with each unnecessary flush of the toilet, and ignoring leaky faucets that can squander 100 gallons of water daily.

For good health, we should drink 8-10 glasses of water each day, so let’s focus on using water where it’s the most beneficial.  Cows also need four gallons of water to produce one gallon of milk, so keep those troughs filled!  Use a broom to sweep driveways and sidewalks rather than the hose.  You get the idea!

How can you proactively remind your clients or residents in your community of the importance of water conservation?  Tie a string around their finger or wrist and snap it each time they use water?  That’s one idea, but Target Marketing Group has a better tool—a Water Ruler!  Featuring your logo, useful tips, and cost savings information, the water ruler is a practical household item that everyone uses.  To see specs on the water ruler, including pricing information, e-mail us at bob@recycledpromos.com to request a flyer.

The Water Ruler is only available through the end of the year!!!!  When December is gone, they’re gone, so don’t delay in placing your order.

To unwind at the end of a long day, curl up in your favorite spot with a cup of hot tea or cocoa in your cozy PJ’s, but keep those showers beforehand short!
